CFPS offers enrichments for every child’s interests. Students can enroll in dance, arts and crafts, violin, piano, cooking, Spanish and computer classes. Up-and-coming athletes are offered soccer, volleyball, basketball, track, cross country and more. Before- and after-school care are also available. The 2012-13 school year begins Aug. 13.

The school is devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building self-confidence and teaching the preliminary skills needed to explore the world independently. Children’s Lighthouse of People of Faith is a faith-based child care center. Full-time child care is offered for children ages 6 weeks-4 years, and part-time care is available for children ages 13 months-4 years. Before- and after-school care also are provided for several local elementary schools. The first day of school is Aug. 20. An open house takes place Aug. 7 from 5-7 p.m. There also is a fall festival Oct. 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

RAAE classes are offered on a semester basis of 10-12 weeks. After-school sports programs are also available to TFA students beginning in the Lower School. A variety of sports are available as team programs or individual sport clinics.

IN THE LIMELIGHT, 5555 S. In the Limelight is a “triple threat” training facility, offering onstage and on-camera acting, voice, dance and piano classes for beginners to advanced performers. Classes begin Aug. 20. Auditions for productions of Disney’s The Little Mermaid (grades K-12); Surviving Lunch, a play about bullying (grades 7-12); and The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, based on the book by L. JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF SOUTHWEST ORLANDO AT THE JACK & LEE ROSEN CAMPUS, 11184 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando, 407-387-5330, www.orlandojcc.org. JCC’s
J University after-school program offers activities for children in kindergarten-eighth grade to engage all their talents and interests, with everything from basketball to soccer to gymnastics to art and dance. JCC provides a home-away-from-home atmosphere, giving children a snack when they arrive and help with their homework. JCC operates buses to Bay Meadows, Dr. Phillips, MetroWest, Palm Lake, Sand Lake, Thornebrooke and Windermere elementary schools, as well as Windy Ridge School. J University is open Monday-Thursday after school until 6:30 p.m. and Friday until 6 p.m.

KIDDIE U, 7666 Wallace Road, Orlando, 407-345-5550, www.kiddieu.org. For the past 11 years, Kiddie U has helped parents develop the future. The program offers a full-time, safe, structured, well-balanced HighScope Curriculum learning environment for ages 6 weeks-5 years. The before- and after-school program provides transportation to and from five local elementary schools and is available for school-age children. After-schoolers participate in supervised indoor and outdoor activities; Wii and Xbox games; and art, music and imaginative play. Those with homework receive one hour of quiet work time.

The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School offers a variety of programs geared toward breaking into the modeling and acting industries or just building confidence and self-esteem. Programs include After-School Children’s Modeling/Image & TV on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:45 p.m. for children ages 6-11, and After-School On-Camera Children’s Acting on Tuesdays from 3:45-5:45 p.m. for children ages 4-6. The school offers teen modeling classes and ongoing acting programs for children ages 7-16. Parents are invited to attend a free professional industry seminar.

The most important goal is to build character skills like cooperation, good sportsmanship, respect and being a team player. Summer camp is open to the public. Classes include art, basketball, cheerleading, chess, cooking, computer, dance, flag football, karate, math games, science, sewing, sing/act/puppets, soccer, Spanish, sports fitness and volleyball.

Discipline, confidence and respect are some of the life skills that are practiced and enhanced through Victory Martial Arts’ programs. The studio, which offers 26 locations nationwide, aims toward training its students to become champions in life.

The Community School at WPS offers a variety of after-school classes such as judo, art, dance, golf, soccer, science wizards, theater, chess club, fashion design, guitar, photography and film production.
