Prior to becoming the medical director at Nova Cosmetic Centers in Dr. Phillips, Jan V. Karlin, M.D., practiced in Palm Springs and Beverly Hills, Calif. Dr. Karlin, who is originally from New England, received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He served residencies in general surgery at the University of Miami and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he became an instructor in plastic surgery. He is a native of Orlando who moved back in 1989 following his fellowship in allergy and immunology at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans.
