In observance of Prevention/Back Care Month, Dr. Phillips Elementary school nurse Vicki Setzer and wellness representative Barb Wilt conducted a backpack weigh-in. More than 200 students were weighed wearing their backpacks to determine if the weight was more than 15 percent of the student’s total weight. All participants were entered into a drawing, where 25 students won new backpacks. |

Ocoee Elementary students donated more than 900 pounds of food to Bread of Life Fellowship. The children collected the food to help make the holidays pleasant for families in need. Guidance counselor Lisa Brzakala congratulated students and parents for their demonstration of kindness. |

Windermere Elementary’s PTA held its annual Holiday Shop, where students purchased gifts for their family members, friends and pets. Proceeds were donated to Give Kids The World, Pet Rescue by Judy, and the school’s Guardian Angel Project. Students were allowed to select which charity they wanted to support with their purchases. |
