Paul and Tina Shores of Dr. Phillips announced the engagement of their daughter, Tyler Marie, to Nicholas William Carris, son of Neal and Marjie Carris of Dr. Phillips. Both Tyler and Nicholas graduated from Dr. Phillips High School. Tyler received her bachelor’s from the University of Florida and is currently working toward her Doctor of Audiology at Vanderbilt University, with an estimated May 2013 completion. Nicholas graduated from Nova Southeastern University and will receive his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UF in May 2012. A May 12, 2012, wedding is being planned. |

Jeff and Kristin Popick of Eden Isle welcomed a son into the world July 18, 2011. Ryan James weighed 10 pounds, 15 ounces and was 22.75 inches long. He was welcomed home by his older sister, Caitlyn. |

MetroWest Master Association officials hosted a successful National Night Out event. More than 500 people gathered at MetroWest Golf Club for an evening of crime-prevention education, safety awareness and entertainment. Dr. Phillips resident and Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings attended the event to recognize MWMA’s “Stomp Out Crime” theme, which earned second-place recognition in the “Orlando National Night Out” contest. |
