Mark Beckett, P.T. |
Mark Beckett, P.T., received his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Northwestern University, and he has more than 25 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Beckett is a former collegiate athlete with extensive clinical experience in treating both the novice and the professional athlete. He also is a former physical therapist for the U.S. Olympic Decathlon Program and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Throughout his career, he has participated in various levels of leadership and mentorship, and also is a lecturer for lower extremity biomechanics and exercise application. Beckett is passionate about all aspects of physical therapy and is particularly accomplished in treating the foot and ankle. He practices at the Dr. Phillips office of Select Physical Therapy.

Maryann Daniels, P.T. |
Maryann Daniels, P.T., earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Central Florida in 1996. After six years of experience with neurological and orthopedic patients at Florida Hospital, she underwent advanced training in manual therapy in California for four years. While there, she worked at a private practice outpatient clinic, where she became proficient in spinal, pelvic girdle, costal and various other orthopedic dysfunctions. Daniels has been a physical therapist for 13 years. She currently practices orthopedic manual therapy at Florida Center for Orthopaedics.

Tim Heeke, P.T., M.O.M.T., is a physical therapist at Select Physical Therapy. He specializes in the treatment of the spine, shoulder, hip and knee. Heeke earned a bachelor’s in physical therapy at Florida A&M University in 1989. He went on to earn a master’s in orthopedic manual therapy in 1996. Heeke has taught courses throughout Florida and has more than 20 years of experience as a physical therapist.

Stephanie Lyons, M.P.T., C.K.T.P., holds a master’s in physical therapy and bachelor’s in health studies. She received her degrees from Utica College of Syracuse University and has practiced as a physical therapist since 2002. Lyons specializes in orthopedic and manual physical therapy. Prior to working in Florida, she worked in central New York and Vermont, where she became a certified kinesio tape practitioner. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Kinesio Taping Association.

Carlos J. Placer, M.D. |
Carlos J. Placer, M.D., is board-certified in pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and has a subspecialty in spine and sports medicine. He offers a full range of physical services, such as pain management, electrodiagnostic studies, adult rehabilitation, prolotherapy for spine injury, Pilates exercises, sport-specific rehabilitation, epidural injections and facet blocks. Dr. Placer completed his medical education at the Universidad Central Del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed his residency at the University of Puerto Rico and his fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Dr. Placer is affiliated with Health Central, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Shands at UF. He maintains a private practice in Orlando and is now offering a spinal cord stimulator trial and platelet-rich plasma.

Kathy Steege, P.T.A., is a physical therapy assistant and clinical manager at Select Physical Therapy. She has been with the company for 21 years. Steege earned an Associate of Science at Seminole Community College in 1998 and Bachelor of Science at Ball State University, Indiana, in 1988. She has achieved success in the treatment of all orthopedic disorders, including spine, shoulder and knee rehabilitation. In addition to treating patients, Steege has used her personal training certification and educational background to create and run several wellness programs, including exercise and nutritional guidance.
