| West Orange 5 Cinema, located at 1575 Maguire Road in Ocoee, will soon host the annual Central Florida Film Festival, a four-day event that includes screenings of independent features, documentaries and short films, as well as seminars and appearances by industry professionals. | The Orlando-based vocal group 42Five will perform benefit concerts for S.T.A.R.S. — Supplies to Assist ouR Students — on Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Olympia High School’s arts auditorium, located at 4301 S. Apopka-Vineland Road in Orlando. S.T.A.R.S. provides backpacks and basic school supplies to public elementary, middle and high school students. This year, the organization hopes to provide 15,000 local students with the supplies they need for the school year. Ticket prices range from $10 to $20, with group rates and sponsorships available. Actress Suzanna Leigh, who co-starred with Elvis Presley in Paradise, Hawaiian Style, relocated to Winter Garden to be closer to her daughter, Natalia Leigh Denny, owner and instructor at NL Acting Studio. Leigh will soon depart on a European book tour to promote her autobiography, Paradise, Suzanna Style, and will continue to design and sell painted furniture. |
