Bridgewater Middle’s Scio Hazards Science Olympiad team competes at the state level of the national Science Olympiad competition. | Ocoee High seniors Rachel Rainer and Scott Spaulding were honored during an Orlando Predators Arena Football game for their participation in the Best Buddies program. The organization creates one-on-one friendships between volunteers and students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. About 1,700 Best Buddies participate in the program at two middle schools, 23 high schools and two colleges in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Brevard counties. |

The First Academy junior Kennan Miller is selected to attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. |
Kennan Miller, a junior at The First Academy, was selected to attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar at the U.S. Naval Academy, along with approximately 2,250 other students from across the globe. The six-day seminar teaches prospective applicants about life at USNA, and during their stays, students live in an on-campus dorm, eat in the dining hall, participate in academic and leadership workshops, and take part in daily physical training. Kennan’s proud parents are Hank and Cheryl Miller of Southwest. |
