Windermere Country Club was the host site of the inaugural golf tournament for Lake Whitney Elementary School’s Education Fund. The event raised more than $7,000 in support of the school’s technology fund, and the Estates at Windermere foursome of Dennis McCarthy, Paul Meyers, Jim Park and Steve Sargent captured top honors. |

| Congratulations to the following Dr. Phillips High School teams and student athletes who were recently recognized for their accomplishments: The men’s track and field team won the Metro West Conference and district championships. At the district tournament, junior Logan Kruse earned three gold medals, and sophomore Reggie Glover received two gold medals and one bronze medal. Men’s weightlifting team members Brad Bindas and Kevin Estime were named to the All-Orange County team. During its Breakfast of Champions, Bright House Sports Network honored Demetrius Hart, football offensive player of the year; Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, football defensive player of the year; Bridget Blake, women’s cross country runner of the year; and Griffey, women’s basketball player of the year. Football quarterback Nick Patti verbally committed to play collegiate ball at Boise State University. |
| Olympia High School’s women’s lacrosse teams held an end-of-season awards ceremony and banquet. The varsity team earned its fourth consecutive Metro Conference championship and closed out the year with an 11-5 record. All-District first-team honorees were Gabby Brandt, Monica Rex, Amanda Waltman and Karley White; White also was selected for the All-Metro first team and named as an honorable mention for the US Lacrosse Girls’ High School All-American Team. Brandt, Avery McConnell and White received senior gifts for their contributions throughout the year, and Brandt and White were selected to play in the Outstanding Senior All-Star game. Additional varsity awards were presented to Waltman, Rookie of the Year; McConnell, Coaches Award; Rex, Mighty Titan and Captains awards; and White, Most Valuable Player. Junior-varsity awards were given to Felicia Carozza, Mighty Titan Award; Miada Saleh, Coaches Award; and Shayna Vazquez, Most Valuable Player. |
