Angel Alexander was hired as the new director of Christ the King Lutheran Preschool. The Bay Lakes resident, who has worked in early childhood education for 18 years, has an associates degree in early childhood education and bachelor’s from the University of Central Florida. She also completed the National Child Development Associate program. Angel holds a Florida teaching certificate for pre-K3 through third grade and director credential with a voluntary pre-K endorsement. |

More than 50 Webster University students were inducted into the Lambda Kappa chapter of Delta Mu Delta honor society. Included in the more than 100 guests who attended the ceremony were Lou and Martha Pearsall of Celebration. Lou is a business programs mentor at Webster. |

The following members of The Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips received Paul Harris Fellow awards: Ruthann DiLauri, Michael Hanley, Larry Lynch and Joe Mahoney. The award is named after the founder of Rotary International and bestowed upon members who have donated $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus or Humanitarian Grants Program. Larry also will serve as the club’s president for the 2011-12 year. |

Robert and Theresa Desmond won a Hidden Springs/Estates Yard of the Quarter. The program, which quarterly honors one resident whose property stands out as being attractive and well-maintained, is sponsored by J.Alexander’s. As a prize, the Desmonds received a $50 gift certificate from the restaurant. |
