Diagon Alley officially opens
Universal Orlando Resort’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley officially opened to the public earlier this month, introducing guests to an all-new, spectacularly themed environment crafted by Alan Gilmore, art director for the park and the Harry Potter films, and a talented team of professionals.
After passing through the legendary Platform 9 3/4, guests can now board the real-life Hogwarts Express to journey between Hogsmeade Station and King’s Cross Station in London, where they will find replicas of the Knight Bus and 12 Grimmauld Place, the ancestral home of Sirius Black.
Upon entering the cobbled Diagon Alley, guests are treated to an assortment of restaurants, shops and a groundbreaking new multidimensional attraction, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
Additionally, while exploring the streets of Diagon Alley — and its gloomy sister shopping area for dark arts practitioners, Knockturn Alley — guests can dine on traditional British fare at The Leaky Cauldron; sample the world’s only Butterbeer ice cream flavor at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour; play a prank or two on friends at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes joke shop; and enjoy live stage shows such as The Tales of Beedle the Bard and The Singing Sorceress: Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees.
The expansion doubles the size of the sweeping land already found at Universal Orlando Resort, expanding the environment across both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
